A friendly man, seeming unassuming but with a faint hint of confidence in his eye. This friendly atmosphere disappears in the cockpit, however. He flies with a cool logic and is not a pilot you want to meet in single combat, as many a rebel pilot has discovered!
He was originally drafted into the army, where he served a brief tour piloting a scout walker. His first combat mission was a disaster, the fault of an incompetent commander, on the forest moon of Endor. His scout got blasted by another that had been captured by the traitors to the Empire. How he survived, he did not know at the time. But he did not come out completely unscathed. As well as many fractures to the front of his skull, his right eye was lost. He managed to steal a shuttle, and found his way back to the remnants of an Imperial Hospital, where he was given a cybernetic implant to replace his lost eye and a steel plate in his forehead.
He flew of in an abandoned TIE fighter, and made quite a few hit and run raids on Rebel Convoys (during this time, it became apparent he was force sensitive), until he was found by the Executor II, where Grand Admiral Ged Larsen immediately pointed him toward the training facilities, and thus a new Imperial Order pilot was discovered.
He quickly acquired the handle 'Mad Max' through his flying. Until he was given a TIE Defender to try out in Delta Squadron, he had always been a cautious pilot with a loathing for the TIE Interceptor. While out in the TIE Defender, he was ordered to hyperspace to where a vital transport was under attack. Upon arrival, he found the transport was being attacked by a number of Y-Wings and was becoming severely damaged. Using his missiles almost immediately took out 5 of them, but one remained. He fly towards it at full speed as he sensed it was closing in for the kill. Green streaks flew ahead of him toward the Y-Wing, but the pilot was good, and managed to survive the initial onslaught. Max was running out of time, unsure of whether another pass would be successful in time, he resolved to destroy the Y-Wing at all costs, the transport was more important than his own ship, after all, it was carrying 3 TIE Defenders.
The Y-Wing was back on track toward the transport. Max sensed it was acquiring a missile lock, once again the green streaks flew toward the Y-Wing as the Defender hurtled after them. Yet again the Y-Wing pilot dodged most of the blasts, but he was by now badly damaged.
Using his cybernetic eye, Max could see the Y-Wing pilot had acquired a missile lock and was just waiting for a sure shot, his finger was closing on the >trigger, Max was getting closer by the second. Then, he was there, the Y-Wing pilot looked horrified as he stared death in the face as the TIE Defender rammed the Y-Wing, completely destroying it. Max quickly checked that the torpedo had not been launched before rendezvousing with the transport and bringing it home.
His brave actions caught the attention of the Imperial Order high command, and he was soon promoted to flight leader, then squadron executive officer. By now, his commander, Vice Admiral Flare had been promoted to ship captain. This left the way open to command of Delta Squadron, another position he exceled in soon leading to further promotion to Wing Commander of Vehement Wing.
One day, Grand Admiral Larsen called him into his office. "Come in Max", he said in his friendly tone, "I have a proposition for you". What followed was an offer of a transfer to the ISD Malevolent, as assistant to Vice Admiral Antillies in Logistics. To go with this was the captaincy of the Malevolent. Max was highly honoured, but somewhat reluctant to leave Delta Squadron that had been his home for so long. However, the Grand Admiral assured him that a good commander would be replacing him, so he finally agreed.
Then came the news of restructuring, and, knowing how much Max loved flying, Grand Admiral Larsen agreed to give him a squadron, Epsilon, flying his most hated craft, the TIE Interceptor.
"I'm sorry, Max, but it's all that's available at the moment, I know you hate them."
"Believe me, sir", Max replied, "after being stuck behind a desk these past few months, I'd gladly fly a Space Trooper suit!"
"Good", replied the Grand Admiral, "with the post goes the job of WXO for Vehement Wing, I assume you'll accept?"
Max was already on his way to find someone who knew anything about flying the TIE Interceptor. "Of course, sir", came the faint reply. Grand Admiral Larsen let a faint smile cross his lips.
Max was determined to prove his value to the Grand Admiral, and the Imperial Order, and he did so. He was soon promoted to Wing Commander of Vehement Wing once more, and under his leadership, they both became recognised as a power force in the Imperial Order. They had among their number some of the best pilots in the Imperial Order, and frequently won inter-squadron competitions.
Max had been a member of the Dark Jedi Order for some time now, and one day, Grand Jedi Master Arakano suggested he take a voyage to Tuajon, to further pursue his studies of the Force and discover his destiny.
Upon his return, a suprise awaited him. Grand Admiral Larsen approached him and said he needed someone to become administrator for Imperial Development. Max accepted, of course. With the job came a promotion to Rear Admiral, and command of the ISD Lightning.
Max continued his loyal service for the Imperial Order. After a concerted 3 year campaign, the Imperial Order drove the Rebels from Coruscant, and order was restored to the galaxy. Max led the fleet into Coruscant aboard the ISD Lightning, his command ship. It was the proudest moment so far, but more was to come.
Grand Admiral Larsen accepted the wishes of our now long departed Emperor, and was proclaimed as Emperor Larsen. There was great celebrations among the Imperial Order.
Max was promoted to Vice Admiral, and was shortly after made Communication Officer for the Imperial Order. He was given a new battlegroup to command (Battlegroup Lightning), and was given control over the Bilibringi System and Shipyards. It was also at this time that he officially opened the Execution Office, a place that the loyal love, and the disloyal avoid with fear!
